PowerHouse Dynamics Announces First eMonitor Compatible Programmable Thermostats, Updated Control And Alert Features
Comment ShareLast week PowerHouse Dynamics announced that the best-in-class eMonitor home energy monitor will now control compatible programmable thermostats from 3M and Radio Thermostat. The eMonitor already set the bar for comprehensive circuit-by-circuit home energy monitoring, but now, by connecting a 3M-50 (3M Filtrete 7-Day Touchscreen WiFi-Enabled Programmable Thermostat), a Radio Thermostat CT-30 or CT-80 programmable thermostat to your home WI-FI network and HVAC system you can empower your eMonitor to automatically program your home climate for peak efficiency, or customize it to your own specific preferences.

PowerHouse also announced the development of an eMonitor mobile app for Google Android, as well as an update to the existing iPhone app. These next generation apps will expand on the existing mobile platform (pictured below) including both monitoring and improved controls (unit settings, climate control, and other compatible smart devices) giving you power over your home from anywhere.

However, these are only the latest features to be added to the eMonitor this year. Earlier this Spring PowerHouse rolled out customizable safety, cost and usage updates that trigger an automated message sent to your e-mail, mobile phone, Twitter or Facebook accounts. You can also elect to receive a weekly e-mail charting the changes in your energy usage or to notify you when it’s time to replace your old appliances by tracking their per load efficiency.
Through the alerts interface you can program an alert for every circuit in your home. For instance, did your kids leave the basement lights on? Leave the freezer door open? You can also get a warning if your furnace or other mission-critical appliance has stopped working.
The eMonitor web portal also offers a sharing screen, through which you can show off your home energy savings to your friends and family or help your own family compete to save money. You can see ours here.

With this technology you can make energy saving fun for the family! Plus with the addition of the iPhone and Andriod app you have an added advantage of a house monitor for when you leave the home in the cold winter months. I will be getting one of these soon I hope!
