I absolutely agree with BPI and RESNET should be unified. Consumers are facing so many green building and energy efficient "solutions" that they don't know where to start. It is best, as you say, to simplify the procedure and project a "best in class" practice that consumers will understand. Consumers are more likely to participate and follow through with a procedure if it is simple enough for them to understand. Having two similar standards only causes confusion and hesitation on the part of the consumer.
