John Pfeiffer of Kinetik Energy Solutions insulated our home top to bottom. He also completed insulation work for our neighbor.
Due to a 1920's era uninsulated home we were experiencing two issues. One of which was lack of comfort due to the cold in several of our most important rooms and the other was high energy bills each month of the year. John completed a detailed whole house energy audit. He was able to locate the known and unforeseen problem areas to be addressed. He subsequently completed a full house insulation project from top to bottom for us and we immediately felt the difference. We and our three girls appreciated it. Our boiler now runs half the amount of time and the house retains a constant temperature throughout.
I am a practicing architect and I'm familiar with a lot of the industry speak. I interviewed half a dozen different companies. We selected John because he was clearly listening to all of our concerns and had instant follow up. We came to trust him implicitly. Another important point is that insulation and home energy solutions is his company's singular focus. Meaning he isn't trying to do so many other trades and he can therefore be a specialist. Our heat is set to be off over night. We used to wake up to a chill when there was frost outside. Now it is pleasant and reaches our preferred warmth of 69 degrees quickly after the heat comes on. It has not been cold long enough so that we would be able to compare heating bills. We only started using heat some time in November. That we are starting to use heat fairly late may be another indication for how little warmth the house is loosing. I should mention that air sealing was a comparatively small expense. I had assumed I would need new windows. That was not so. With the blower door John showed me where the air leaks were. I can recommend John Pfeiffer for his knowledge and ambition in the field of energy conservation. Being German I might have a fairly high standard for craftsmanship and thoroughness. John topped my expectations with his caring concern.

I just wanted to tell you how happy we are with what you did to our house! We’ve been amazed: instead of drafty pockets all over, temperatures are even wherever you go. Instead of experiencing a drop of what felt like 5-10 degrees every time we walked upstairs, we feel maybe a degree more warmth on the way up. The thermostat registers the same temperature for hours without the radiators ever going on. It’s a whole new world just in terms of comfort, and I can’t wait to see our next gas bill. I have to tell you, if we’d realized what a dramatic difference this would make, we would have done it years ago.
