Quick Overview
Additional current transformer (CT) sensors for the eMonitor Energy Monitoring hardware component.
Availability
CTs are shipped USPS Priority Mail at a flat rate of $5 for orders up to 10 units.
Product Description
150 amp CTs for 400 amp or larger multi-panel installations
For electrical services larger than 200 amps, you'll need an additional pair of 150 amp CTs for each additional breakeer panel -- the standard eMonitor bundle includes one pair of 150 amp CTs for each module ("s" modules do not provide the additional 150 amp CTs) so in a new installation you're better off just adding a non-"s" than purchasing the CTs separately.
You may also need larger CTs for the thicker leads serving sub-panels as the 20 amp and 50 amp sensors provided may not be physically large enough to surround the lead. This case is unusual and only would apply if you had chosen not to monitor the individual circuits of the sub-panel discretely.
20- and 50-amp CTs
In the case of 50 amp and 20 amp CTs, the 50 amp versions can be used on smaller circuits, but if you need more CTs than are provided, you can order extras here as needed. Note that 50-amp CTs may be used on circuits up to 60-amps as long as they fit around the leads (most electrical codes require that a circuit actually draw at least 20% less than the rating of the breaker, and the CTs themselves are designed to measure correctly somewhat beyond their stated rating).
Ethernet Wireless Bridge
We have a limited number of wireless bridges available for cases where it is impractical to run a physical Ethernet connection to the location that eMonitor is installed. Any router that can be configured as a wireless bridge can be used for this purpose. These are sometimes called "wireless access points" -- nothing special is required, just a reliable Ethernet connection to your router that the eMonitor can use to send data.
