Product Description

Pay attention cold and water-scarce America! This little number makes sense. It saves the hot water you normally waste while waiting for the shower to heat up to your ideal bathing temperature. Once the water reaches 95 degrees Farenheit, ShowerStart slows the water flow to a trickle. When you are ready to begin your shower, flip the switch and ShowerStart soaks you with pleasing pressure even at a water-saving 1.59 gallons per minute. ShowerStart keeps money in your pocket two ways: in hot water heating costs, and by conserving 7 gallons of water during an average shower. Fun fact: A family of three that uses ShowerStart can save up to $230 in energy bills and 7,665 gallons of water per year.

after we put this in I stopped getting yelled at for my long showers. I guess it's supposed to be energy efficient. I just like it.

It arrived one afternoon, installed that night without a hitch, worked like a charm the next morning. A substantial piece of hardware (unlike the cheap plastic one that lived with us for too long) that looks good. We're buying a second one.

This showerhead is installed in our bathroom. It's what I use everey day. I've yet to find a low flow head that delivers as good a shower. In contrast to some low flow models, it has a nice wide water cone and comfortable droplet spray. We're still trying to measure the water heat savings, but I know it's real because we're getting many more showers in a row.

The feature that stops the water as soon as it gets to temp works great. I turn it on, and no longer need to pay attention while the hot water makes its way up the pipes. As soon as it is hot, the showerhead automatically stops the flow. When you're ready to get in, there's a pull cord that starts it up. It's flawless.

Also, compared to so many cheesy looking low flow showerheads, this is a really nice looking fixture. Great quality all around.

Sorry, Joe the Plumber, even my neophyte husband had enough skills to install this himself. Honestly, I thought this was going to be a big adjustment from the delivery we got from our powerhorse showerhead. But I have grown to love this smartypants product. You turn the water on and then go check for gray hairs. You can pluck as long as you want, because when the water gets to temp, the showerhead slows the flow to a trickle. When you're ready to get into the shower, you pull on the cord & the full pressure resumes. This ain't your motel fixture; time to scramble our preconceptions about the low-flow scene.
