What a great idea to have a crank-powered flashlight, first of all. Flashlights generally come in handy in emergency-like situations, so worrying about whether or not the batteries work, or trying to find new batteries in a dark house, can be a huge drag. No worries with this thing, crank it up and it's good to go... in a flash... Plus it's an LED so the bulb will last forever and it looks great.

These crank-powered flashlights are amazing; this is the first one I've used, but it's come in really handy, and it's good to know that I'll never have to worry about dead batteries, and to boot, I don't have to worry about throwing away dead batteries. This flashlight is pretty compact but plenty powerful, and has a cool light quality. This is just an all-around "you can't lose" flashlight.
