How do you get the instant-on capabilities of a incandescent halogen bulb with the superior energy perfromance and longer life of a CFL? You combine them into a single A19 bulb - introducing the GE Energy Smart Hybrid CFL/Halogen. Inside this classic light bulb shape is a CFL spiral surrounding a halogen capsule.
When the bulb is turned on the halogen capsule lights up immediately, turning off 20-60 seconds later when the CFL components have warmed up to full brightness.
At 1100 lumens this bulb can replace most 100w incandescents.
