Quick Overview

It's time to switch to dimmable floods, CFL style. Can it. Dim it. Do it. Now.

Product Description

Impress your friends. They don't think it's possible to buy a dimmable CFL flood light. You know better. Upgrade your dimmables to CFLs that use only 15 watts of electricity but provide output equivalent to that of a 50 to 60 watt incandescent light bulb. It's never been easier to make the switch: The GE R30 dimmable CFL flood works with most conventional incandescent wall switch dimmers, and they last for 6,000 hours, which means that you reach up and do the twist on a wooden chair approximately 5 times less often than your neighbors. This reflector has met the U.S. Department of Energy's Pacific Northwest National Laboratory's requirements for use in elevated temperature applications, making it especially suitable for use in recessed cans.

Nitty Gritty

About 2 years ago I replace all my kitchen floods(8) for over 80 bucks. Just replaced 3 again and another is out. I guess I'll keep my recipt this time

This is truly 2nd generation CFL lighting - CFLs with the capacity to dim. Works well, it's very efficient, I love it. I've replaced all my kitchen lighting and wouldn't go back.

One of the big problems people have had with CFLs is that, until recently, they weren't dimmable. Now that dimmable CFLs are available, no excuses. Time to make the switch. I've done it, and couldn't be happier. Just make sure to pair a dimmable CFL with a compatible dimmer - worth it!
