Product Description
Cracks and gaps around windows, walls and ceilings can account for an unnerving 31% of the energy escaping from your home. Sealing those escape routes is one of the best (and cheapest) ways to keep the heat in and the cold out (or vice versa). Until recently, using foam was a messy process aggravated by chemical irritants commonly found in sealants. Enter OSI’s Greenseries. This magically expanding foam works beautifully, and is nearly free of the harmful chemical emissions you don’t want. Pro Foam II will adhere to just about any surface (sorry, no guarantee for Teflon houses), provides an instant R-value of 5 per square inch of foam, and has low (25%) VOC level, which means it is less likely to irritate allergies and provoke asthmatic conditions. Use Pro Foam to run a tight ship: Insulate around windows, door frame joints, jambs, sills, even electrical and plumbing penetrations — just about anywhere air, energy, and cold hard cash could be trickling out of your home. An extra bonus: this foam makes a respectable sound barrier, too. Fortunately, a little of this foam goes a long way, depending on how wide your gaps and cracks are and how big your home is. For a little perspective: If you’re filling 1/4-inch wide cracks, one bottle will last you 5,315 feet; or, if you are filling 1/2-inch wide cracks, approximately 1,300 feet . You’ll want to pick up an application gun for easy and precise application.

This foam is not ugly. Pro Foam II expands just enough to fill gaps, not enough to remind you of boiled over chicken stew. The foam hardens within 4-24 hours and can then be trimmed away with an exacto-blade or sanded down. Pro Foam is a quiet off-white color, but can be painted, stained or otherwise camouflaged. Please note: Pro Foam II, like most sealants and adhesives, is extremely flammable. Be careful to cross-ventilate when applying the product. And, ahem, please refrain from using it to caulk around fireplaces, heater-vents, steam-pipes or other heated surfaces!

I give 4 stars on the "ease of use" category only because you have to pair this stuff with a good foam gun - otherwise, easy, quick, and very cool. Greenseries is the foam to buy because it's low-VOC, less toxic than similar products and still extremely effective. You won't want to use this in your living room, but in the attic and basement (where the big air leaks are), this stuff kicks a bunch of butt really quickly. Good foam.
