Product Description

Philips SpotOn is ideal for dark stairways, bathrooms and cupboards – any area where you want great light for a brief time and don’t want to mess around looking for a switch. The built-in motion sensor flicks 3-energy efficient LEDs on the second it senses your presence, and switches off 20 seconds later. Cleverly, the SpotOn requires no installation. Its self-adhesive back adheres to most surfaces. The light is powered by three AAA batteries (included). Unlike its imitators, the SpotOn does not require you to remove it from the wall to replace batteries (after you’ve recharged them, right?). That’s handy.

The bad news? This light doesn’t know when it’s light outside. If using in a bathroom or other naturally illuminated location, the light will come on for daytime motion, too.

It's a handy little light for dark corner cupboards, but not as bright as what I expected. I had a battery operated light in there before this, which we kept forgetting to turn off. Of course, those burned out quickly. The SpotOn lasts much longer since it turns itself off when not needed. But I wish it were brighter!

This is a great little light for a closet. Easy to use and no installation needed, and it's nice and bright.

I have motion sensors on lamps all over my house. Two SpotOns were just right for a dark hallway. An AC version might be nice, but these work great as nightlights on a ceiling. The area is usually dark even in daytime, so photosensor probably wouldn't work there anyway. Besides, one-minute ontime is just right for passing thru in the middle of the night and not stepping on a cat underfoot. I've really come to like these lights.
