Quick Overview
What's up with your appliances? Find out who the power hogs are, in real time, with data you can understand. Easy. Smart.

Product Description

Like a wild west bounty hunter, the Watts Up ? monitor susses out the electricity hogs in your house and tells you how much power (and money) they’ve been stealing. Once you know, you get to decide what to do about them. The Watts Up? is easy to use. Just plug the monitor, which is connected to a 6 foot long cord, into a three-prong grounded electric outlet. Then plug the device you want to snoop out into the top of the monitor. The monitor will immediately display the wattage demanded by the device you have plugged in. For more information, leave the device plugged in longer. Over a period of time the monitor will display the cumulative amount of electricity consumed or the cumulative cost of the electricity used, based on your local electric rate. And that's not all. This Watts Up? Monitor will disclose: current watts, minimum watts, maximum watts, power factor, cumulative watt hours, average monthly kilowatt hours, tier 2 kilowatt hour threshold (used to calculate secondary kWh rates), elapsed time, cumulative cost, average monthly cost, line volts, minimum volts, maximum volts, current amps, minimum amps, and maximum amps. This model will store up to 2,000 records (or 3,000 if only recording watts), which may be downloaded to a PC computer with the supplied PC software via a USB cable. That means that you get information not only when you're looking, but also when you're walking the dog (and the kids are making microwave popcorn and blending up a smoothie). The software allows access to the data table, offers charting and payback analysis, and permits the export of data in a comma-delimited format. That's a pretty good arsenal of information. Why we think the inartfully named Watts Up ? is actually pretty nifty: It's simple, direct, helpful, and mercilessly accurate. This monitor is supplied with tracking software, but if you're interested in Real Time results, consider the Watts Up? Real Time Software, sold separately on this site.
