Business Development Representative (BDR)

Energy Circle, a Maine-based company specializing in digital marketing solutions for the energy efficiency community -- green builders, energy auditors, HVAC & home performance contractors, etc. -- seeks a full-time Paid Search Strategist to join our Marketing Services team.

Energy Circle provides lead generation digital marketing on an advanced web platform designed and developed for the better building sector. We measure our performance on the success of our clients and their impact on the world: our customers have delivered more than $1 Billion in energy efficiency retrofits since we started. 

The Role:

Business Development Representatives at EC manage a sophisticated, targeted outbound outreach program aimed at introducing highly qualified companies to our offerings. You'll be supported by a comprehensive inbound and content marketing program, as well as a nationwide event schedule. You will work directly with our Founder & CEO. You will gain experience interacting with prospective clients and hunting new business throughout the US and Canada, across a variety of industry sectors including home performance, HVAC, insulation, solar, high performance building and architecture. Successful BDR's have the opportunity to advance through a clearly defined learning and earning path to Account Executive or other departments within EC. To be successful in this role, you should have a hunger for developing leads from well-executed outbound prospecting campaigns. You will use written and verbal communication skills—primarily email and cold calling— to cultivate strong relationships with customers, from first contact until handoff to Account Executives.


REQUIREMENTS


Responsibilities:

  • Qualify leads from marketing campaigns as sales opportunities
  • Conduct research and identify prospects for our services
  • Develop prospecting strategies and campaigns
  • Use prospecting software to contact potential clients through cold calls and emails
  • Present Energy Circle to potential clients
  • Prepare digital marketing evaluations for prospects
  • Customize product solutions to increase customer satisfaction
  • Build long-term trusting relationships with clients
  • Proactively seek new business opportunities in the market
  • Support Account Executives with meetings, calls and proposals
  • Report to the full Sales & Marketing Team on weekly sales results and KPI's
  • Stay up-to-date with new products/services and new pricing/payment plans

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree is strongly preferred
  • 1-2 Years of corporate experience, outside of undergraduate graduation (Software sales is a plus)
  • Preferred qualifications:
  • Strong desire to be in technology sales
  • Prior inside sales experience a big plus
  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time effectively
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • High energy and positive attitude
  • Ability to take initiative
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
